Conversations With Interesting People Vol. 1

One of my favorite things about owning a retail shop is all of the fascinating people I get to interact and form relationships with on a daily basis. We appeal to such a wide array of people that it's not uncommon for me to have in-depth conversations in a single day with artists, musicians, city councillors, investors, scientists, entrepreneurs and more.

Because of the nature of our store, we usually are talking about the same hot button issue or book, article, tv show, what have you. I love exploring an issue by getting the insights of so many different people. We thought it might be fun to expand that idea to something a little bit more formal that would let us dive a little deeper as well as give everyone else the ability to join the conversation.

We're excited to announce a new series we'll be doing called CWIP, or Conversations With Interesting People. About once a month we'll have someone in the store for an intimate (no more than 30 people) fireside chat where we'll talk about culture and community and how whatever interesting thing they do intersects with them.

There will be a 20-30 minute interview with the subject followed by a Q&A. We'll have snacks and cocktails and around 29 other people who are probably into the same things you are will be there so it should be a good time.  We're also letting the interesting person of the night choose an organization to which we'll donate 100% of the ticket proceeds.

First up is Columbus City Councillor Elizabeth Brown. Along with being a great friend to both of our shops, Brown has been pushing for the rights of all Columbus residents and just doing an all around great job at being a councillor and human. She's chosen Moms2B who support provide direct care to pregnant and new moms to fight infant mortality.

We hope you'll join us on July 10th from 6PM-8PM.
